3 Quick Facts About Dr. Nikki
A proud Nebraska native, Dr. Nikki Kopetzky has been helping Nebraskans hear better since 2003. Her deep roots in the community—and personal connection to hearing loss—fuel a compassionate, skilled approach to audiology that spans all ages and all types of hearing and balance concerns.
Her interest in the field began early, after learning about her father’s hearing loss and seeing how effective treatment transformed his life—and their entire family’s ability to communicate. That early insight grew into a passion for helping others stay connected through better hearing.
Dr. Nikki earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, followed by her Doctorate in Audiology from Salus University in Philadelphia. Her clinical skills were sharpened over 15 years as Director of Audiology at one of the largest ENT practices in the state, where she treated a wide range of hearing and balance disorders. She founded Active Hearing Health in 2020. Today, she continues to draw on her depth of experience to offer personalized, evidence-based care to every patient she sees. Her special interests include hearing technology, balance assessments, advocacy/legislative affairs, and practice management.
She’s also deeply involved in the professional audiology community. Dr. Nikki is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA), and an active leader within the Nebraska Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSLHA), where she currently serves as Vice President of Advocacy and is in her third term as a board member. (Ok, honestly--the list of her boards is long, so if you'd like the most recent run-down, just ask her!) She’s also a past state convention speaker and has proudly mentored audiology graduate students as a preceptor at UNL since 2005.
At home, Dr. Nikki lives in the Gretna area with her husband, three kids, two dogs, and one cat. When she’s not at a softball game, wrestling match, band performance, or school theater event, you’ll likely find her outdoors—soaking up lake time with her family, or enjoying active days on the river.
