3 Quick Facts About Dr. Noel
A self-described nomad, Dr. Noel grew up in eight different states before enlisting in the U.S. Army immediately after high school. She served four years as an Arabic Linguist, gaining not only a love for language but also a strong sense of service and "grit" that still serves her well today.
Her path to audiology became clear when her youngest sister was diagnosed with hearing loss. Inspired by the way hearing impacts connection and quality of life, Dr. Noel earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communicative Disorders and Sciences from Wichita State University, followed by her Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Florida.
Since 2004, she’s been delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care to Nebraskans of all ages. She spent seven years at Boys Town National Research Hospital—four of those as a supervisor—before spending a decade in private ENT practice. She joined Active Hearing Health as co-owner in 2021. Her clinical interests include tinnitus management, auditory processing, and aural rehabilitation, and her passion lies in helping patients hear (and live) better through personalized care.
Dr. Noel is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a member of both the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) and the Nebraska Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSLHA). She currently holds the role of NSLHA President.
Today, Omaha is the place Dr. Noel proudly calls home—the city she’s lived in longer than any other. Outside the clinic, you’ll find her spending time with her family (including her beloved "not-a-beagle", Bongo), or out on the water scuba diving and sailing with her husband whenever the wind, weather, and waves allow.
